About dog daycare
A Dog Daycare can be used for different reasons. Often you will encounter a daycare which will not allow certain dogs due to gender, age or breed. We do not believe in discriminating against dogs and will take on each dog on a case by case basis. After consulting with the owner and evaluating the dog we can determine if dog daycare is right for your dog.
What happens at a dog daycare?
Dog learns to communicate in dog language. We use mentor dogs to teach other dogs the skills of communication. How to stop conflict, to trust and maybe for some taking the big step to play. Not all dogs appreciate playtime. Some are too reserved, some only playfight as they mature. Breed, age and gender all play a role. At daycare we build dog packs and encourage good behavior.
Exercise. Daycare is a great outlet for your dog’s energy. We play, we run, we do mental games like obedience, search puzzles and fetch. We even help dogs to swim. We also use a treadmill for the athletes in the group.
Puppies socialize. We used socialization exercises for the young dogs. From visual challenges, meeting dogs/people/cats - to sound challenges, it can get pretty exciting for young dogs. A second part of socialization is sensory integration. Pups will learn skills to cope with touch, sound, restraint, pressure and learn to deal with frustration and impulses.
Games. Throughout the year we will have special seasonal activities. From crafts to Olympics, boredom is not an option.
Growth. Your dog will grow mentally and physically as he or she comes to visit the daycare family. Appropriate exercise promotes physical health, nap times help dogs to process all that they learned throughout the day away from home and we encourage psychological growth through training and conquering challenges together with instructors and doggy friends.
